Why Daylight Savings Time Could Be Bad.

2 min readMar 10, 2020

Here are some reasons why I hate Daylights Savings time.

We all turn out clocks forwards in the spring and turn them back again in the fall. To me it seems like a total waste of time, and I’m not the only one who feels this way. I hate changing my clock forward because I lose an hour of sleep. I really like my sleep, but that’s not the only reason why I don’t like daylight savings time.

In a 2012 study it was determined that exposure to morning light made you less hungry. Now that we have moved our clocks ahead it’s darker longer in the morning meaning that less light increases your chances of overeating or grabbing an unhealthy snack.

I already have enough trouble eating healthy and watching my weight. I didn’t need Daylight savings time to add to that.

You may lose some productivity. That hour we lose during daylight savings time can make us sluggish for a day or two. Maybe even longer. Believe it or not our bodies have to adjust to the change in time.

You already know you are losing an hour of sleep, but did you know that hour can actually cause you to develop a pattern of sleep deprivation? That means you will be crankier and have reduced mental acuity. It can also make you less healthy in the long run.
