What Is Love
Love is more than just a feeling.
Everyone associates love with that tingling, hands sweaty, butterflies in the stomach feeling. But that’s only part of it, love is so much more than just a feeling.
Love can not be demanded, commanded, or taken away. Love can not be controlled. It is bigger than any one person.
We can not control when, how, or where love is expressed. Love is unpredictable and doesn’t come with conditions, stipulations, or an agenda.
Love is different than our desires or lust. It is given freely and can not be bought. Sometimes people think that by buying expensive things to give to the person they love, they will be loved in return. It doesn’t work that way. Love can’t be forced, nor can it be prevented. Love has no boundaries and can not be imprisoned.
Being married does not guarantee you love. In most instances, a proposal of marriage comes from a strong sense of love, but that’s not always the case. If you only know someone for a few months and then get married, you may not actually love that person. It may be lust.
Sex and love are two different things. Having sex does not mean you love that person, or that the other person loves you.
Love can not be turned on or off. When you love someone, you love them. There is no switch to make that feeling go…
