What Do I Want Out Of Life?

This isn’t the question you should be asking yourself.

If you ask someone what they want from life most people will answer something along the lines of “I want to be happy, have a great family, and a job I love. That’s such a copout answer.

We have been programmed to believe that’s what we want. That’s why so many people are actually unhappy.

A better question to ask is, “What are you willing to work for in life?”

What goal are you willing to make sacrifices for to accomplish? What do you want so badly, you are willing to give up everything to have? What are you willing to struggle to get? That’s what you should be asking yourself. The answer to these questions is what you really want from life.

Everybody wants to have a great job and make lots of money. But not everyone is willing to suffer through the long hours, late nights, and lack of social life to achieve that goal. Most people want the reward without the risk. Life just doesn’t work that way.

If you want something you’re going to have to work for it, sacrifice for it. Happiness requires struggle, and most people aren’t willing to struggle to get what they want. That’s why most people will never get what they truly want from life.
