Unhealthy Habits You Should Stop During Flu Season

You know all those unhealthy habits you have, now would be a good time to try to break them. Here are a few of the worst ones you can have during the flu season.

Biting your nails.

If you are a nail bitter now would be a good time to quit. Not only is it annoying, it can seriously effect your health. Under your nails is a nice spot for germs. Nail polish is a great way to help break this habit. And for all you guys out there thinking there’s no way you are going to go around with colorfully painted nails, they make clear nail polish.

Twirling your hair.

Although this isn’t the worst habit you could have, it could potentially make you sick. Your hair, especially long hair, can transmit a virus to your eyes, nose and mouth. Most people don’t think about it, but your hair picks up germs just like your hands can. If you are twirling your hair you are most likely bringing it around to the front of your face, allowing the virus to come in contact with your eyes, nose or mouth.

Changing your bed sheets.

I’m not sure this counts as a bad habit, and not necessarily an unhealthy one. I wash my bed sheets every two weeks, which is probably normal for a lot of people. Viruses can live on surfaces for…
