The Best Thing About Being A Writer
I recently had someone ask me this question and I had to think about it for a moment.
I imagine everyone has their own answer as to what the best thing about being a writer is. Here are a few things I think make writing totally awesome.
It’s entertaining.
In what other profession can you spend hours in your head, talking to yourself and not get called crazy. I love imagining the world my characters live in and I have no problem living in my head while I do it.
Complete control over everything and everyone
As long as they are places and characters in your book. Think about it, as a writer, you get to decide what happens to people. Unless you’re like me and your characters take on a life of there own, and you end up with very little control over them.
You get to pretend to be so many different people.
I tend to take on the role of whoever my main character is so I can better express how they feel or what they want. While I am doing this I am for all purposes that person. It’s pretty cool when you think about it like that.
