Organize Your Life

Organization is my biggest weakness. I have, however, learned a few tricks that help me keep my life a little less messy.

There was a time when I was the most organized person you would ever meet. Then I had a kid and any sense of organization left. It’s taken a few years, but I finally learned how to gain back some control and organization among the chaos.

Schedules

For starters, make a schedule, even just a mental schedule. It will help keep you on track throughout the day. I rarely stick to my schedule completely, but it helps me to know what I’m doing and when I’m supposed to be doing it.

You can make your schedule as detailed as you want. For me, I prefer to keep mine a little open. For instance, I may plan to play with my son for an hour outside in the afternoon, but I don’t know if we will be taking a walk or kicking the ball around.

Write it down.

Write everything down from your appointments to your grocery list, write it all down. I have a calendar dedicated to appointments that sits on the fridge in my kitchen. This way I see it every day, and so does everyone else. I also keep a notepad in my kitchen for writing down my grocery lists. As we run out of things, I write it down so I don’t forget when it’s grocery day.
