Mastering Time When You’re a Mother
Time is the one thing we never have enough of, and it’s the one thing we can never get back.
So how do you manage your time when you have kids running around?
Well, let’s be honest. If you’re a mother, time management is a myth. No matter how much you plan, something will happen and throw a wrench into your perfectly made schedule.
Someone will always get sick on the day you have set aside as a “me” day. And we all know the only one able to take care of a sick child is a mother.
There is no such thing as planning ahead. Something will always come up that can’t be rescheduled or postponed. And when it does, mom will have to stop everything she’s doing and take care of it.
Eventually, you will stop trying to plan or schedule anything. It’s not worth the effort, and you’ll start to realize you have more time if you don’t take the time to make a plan.
If you have small children finding any quiet time for yourself during the day is almost impossible. If your lucky, your significant other will volunteer to watch the kids for an hour (when they say an hour, what they really mean is fifteen minutes). You will be overjoyed to get the free time and eagerly agree. But the minute you start to do something, that large pile of clothes needing to be folded stares at you…
