I Will Never Be a Perfect Parent, But I Can Be A Good One.
For most of us who have kids, our one goal is to be a good parent.
Everybody has their own idea of what makes a good parent, and sometimes we judge the actions of others to justify our own ideas. But what really makes a good parent good?
Sacrifice
As a parent you will make sacrifice after sacrifice for your children. For most of us it’s an easy thing to do, after all we want what’s best for our kids. Some sacrifices are easier to make then others. Like giving them the last piece of chicken, or canceling a night out with your friends to take them to their baseball game.
Other sacrifices hurt a little more. Like giving up that promotion at work you work to get for the past five years, because you wouldn’t have enough time to spend taking care of your kids. Sacrificing is hard, but we do it anyway because our kids are worth it.
Time
Let’s face it kids take a lot of time. As parents we are happy to give up our time to spend with them. However, giving up our time means that we sometimes miss out on things or don’t get to do things we want to do. This kind of goes along with making sacrifices. We sacrifice our time so our kids know we care about them.
