100 word flash fiction story

“Come on, Max. Give it one more try.” I held out a dead fish, his favorite treat. He still wouldn’t leave the confines of his underground home.

I paced outside the entrance wondering what to do. How was I going to train him when he wouldn’t even come out of the cave?

The ground shook beneath me. With one foot in front of the other, he emerged into the sunlight.

A groan escaped his lips and he covered his eyes with one dark paw. Then he flapped his wings and flew off into the sky. I never saw him again.
