The old man slowly made his way down the stairs, his bones creaking in protest along with the wooden staircase. For years he had stayed silent about the Star Watchers program, but today he would tell his side of the story.

He sat down in his recliner and made himself comfortable, waiting for his guest to arrive. Moments later, a knock on the door made him smile. He glanced down at his watch, one minute late. Not bad, for a human.

He clambered out of his chair and shuffled his way to the door. If he didn’t think it would cause trouble, he would have put a sign on the door that said, Knock and enter. Then he wouldn’t have to try to get out of that stupid chair.

His old and tired bones pulled the heavy wooden door open. “Are you ready, my dear?”

The woman on the other side of the door nodded, her eyes wide with wonder. If only she knew how sad and tragic his story really was. “I’ve been looking forward to our sit down all weak.” She smiled.

“Well, come on in and make yourself comfortable.” He shuffled from the front door to his recliner, every breath more difficult than the one before, and sighed with relief when he finally sat down.
