Confession of a gaming addict
A person can get addicted to just about anything.
As a young child I didn’t really play video games that much. I was about twelve when we got our fist gaming console. A Nintendo (That’s right it was an original Nintendo). I enjoyed playing it but never spent more than an hour at a time shooting ducks or trying to rescue the princess in Mario brothers.
Several years later my younger brother got a playstation 2. I play it a few times but had lost interest in video games by that time. I was more of an outdoor person.
Around eighteen I started playing computer games, mostly at night and only once or twice a week. I was a very focused person with a career and better things to do then play games for hours at a time.
I soon tired of computer games and for years spent my time reading, writing and working on my career.
At twenty-three I started playing computer games again. I was going through a very stressful time in my life and for whatever reason playing games made me feel better.
I didn’t become addicted overnight. It just kind of snuck up on me over the years.
Most of the games I played were just entertainment but then I bought sims 2 and the reason for playing changed.
