There is a misconception that if you show any vulnerability, your weak. It doesn’t have to be a weakness, it can be a strength.

I think some people have the wrong idea about what Vulnerability is. It’s more an emotional state rather than a physical one. It’s okay to let your emotions show sometimes and with some people. Not showing emotion can make you seem hard and uncaring.

There are also lots of benefits to showing your vulnerability.

Relatable

It can make it easier for people to relate to you. If you are always distant and never show any emotion, you start to come off as a robot that people just can’t relate to. That doesn’t mean you should share all your trauma with complete strangers or even coworkers. It simply means, showing someone that you understand what they are going through or how they feel because you’ve been in a similar circumstance. Doing this can go a long way in allowing someone to relate to you.

It builds trust

Never sharing anything about yourself doesn’t inspire trust in others. In fact, it can create the exact opposite. If you share nothing, people start to think you have something to hide and will start to distrust you. Letting someone know a few details about your life isn’t a bad thing, just don’t go…
