Be Creative

3 min readDec 4, 2019

We all have the ability to be creative; some of us just need a little more help than others.

Creativity is with us all the time. Sometimes we need a little inspiration to bring it out, and other times we need a swift kick in the butt to get us going. Here are a few things you can do that might help your creativity.

If you are having trouble being creative, just simply begin your task. When I can’t think of anything to write I sit down and start typing. It doesn’t really matter that what I’m typing doesn’t make sense or isn’t any good, because sooner or later inspiration will strike and the creativity bug will hit me.

Laughing has been said to trigger creativity. So next time you are feeling frustrated and stumped, read a joke or watch a funny cat video.

Look at your project from a different perspective. If I get stuck while I’m writing I sometimes rearrange my paragraphs to get a different view. When I am writing stories I will skip to writing the ending and that gives me a better idea of what my characters are going to do and I am no longer stuck.

The best way to get a spark of creativity is to immerse yourself with creativity. Go to a museum. Look at some paintings or read a book. Better yet read some poetry or go to a concert. When you surround yourself with creativity something is bound to rub off and inspire you.
